OH you guys.
I'm deeply sorry its been so long. You know when you've put something off for so long that you just don't care about it anymore? That's where I'm at. Right. Now. But alas, I committed to not let this blog go so I will begrudgingly post!
I've had uhh, not much time for anything. I'm working around 55 hours a week vs. the 20 or so I was before the past two months. On top of that, we haven't had internet at home for over a month so, all my time I spend on the internet is at work which means I'm cramming personal, professional etc. into one time gap. So hard to do!
Let me catch you up to speed before sharing some exciting blog news!
Let me catch you up to speed before sharing some exciting blog news!
- I'm off of the Boys and Girls club until September. They asked me to take the summer off and I'm pretty excited to remember how to breathe! I love this job but I've sort of felt burnt out in the past few months with everything going on so this is a welcomed break
- Things are moving forward swimmingly with camp this summer. I'm doing skits as the character " Snackie" who is a Snookie mockery... then as " Raquel" the President of woodleaf's Glee club, Gleaf. Soo excited about that one.
- I did my first photo shoot in quote a while. Here's a couple of snaps:
- We had our first women's retreat for Risen in Big Bear! It was so refreshing to be in the wilderness again... I've definitely been in L.A. for too long now without any woodsie breaks. I'd like to do it again but have NO responsibilities next time. I got to lead the group in worship a few times per day and that on top of cooking and stuff left me sort of always DOING which... was mostly my fault and the opposite of the intention. However, it was a really sweet time getting to know the girls and having time meditating in the woods, doing private yoga sessions crafted specifically for us and living communally in a cabin for a few days. I want to be back there!
- My thumb that i previously thought was BROWN, is actually quite GREEN!!! WEE! I have tomatoes, basil, squash and flowers growing wonderfully on my stoop :) yes yes YEESSsssss
- I got the chance to see the new Disney show, World of Color... Honestly, the most spectacular manmade thing I've ever seen in my life. Tears. I had tears because it was so awesome! If you have a chance, go see. If the Bellagio watershow had a baby with Fantasmic and that baby grew to be a giant who did acid.... this show would still be more impressive than that baby. Haha... those who have seen should understand that.
- I got a new roommate! It was actually kind of a sad and weird event- she moved in because Christina moved to Haiti. Another bittersweet event. Nonetheless Chelsea is great. I rarely see her because she's engaged and appropriately spends a lot of time with her fiancee and is at work most of the other time but... I like her!
I guess that's pretty much all I got for now as far as updates go..
So here's what I decided... Since I'm so burnt out on this right now, I need to try something NEW.
And that new thing is... Daily Adventures.
I have just been given a huge gift.. well, more like 35 gifts of time. I basically get to choose my hours for my job as the worship leader of our church and therefore I get to choose my days. SO I have decided to NOT waste my time for once. I want to make a commitment to go on an adventure every day. One per day at least... they can be anything from something big to something as simple as a new coffee place. I just want to really take advantage of this time I've been given and not let myself do what I usually do... burn out and let things slip away.
So tomorrow is day one... of my Daily Adventures.
lets just see how it goes!
Annnnd that's kind of it.
